This year marked the 30th Annual General Meeting of the Fur Institute of Canada (FIC) and the First National Aboriginal Harvesters Conference hosted by the FIC, held in Canada’s capital, Ottawa from June 19-23, 2013. The National Aboriginal Harvester’s Conference was hosted at the Canadian Museum of Nature on Wednesday, June 19th and Thursday, June 20th, where attendees heard from speakers covering topics such as hunter participation trends, youth involvement in traditional harvesting activities, wildlife management issues of interest, and education programs geared for Aboriginal hunters and trappers.
